Ffestiniog Railway England Locomotives

And now for something compleatly different. One my other passions had always been the little trains of wales. mainly the ffestiniog and the talyllyn railways and as i have been bored at work lately I've been putting my graphical skills to use.

The England class locomotives were the first locomotives to work the ffestiniog railway. Four were delivered at first and their names were Princess, Prince, Mountaineer and Palmerston. they worked hard with a few modifications to give them more traction. Soon it was decided that they needed two more engines, so they place an order for two more. They were larger and stronger than the first four and they called Welsh Pony and Little Giant.

by the turn of the 20th century Mountaineer and Little Giant were scrapped to keep the other four running. The rest had been re-built and looke the same and they worked alongside the Double fairlys (Drawings to come later).

Today the four still survive. Prince and Palmerston still run the line and Princess and Welsh pony are waiting restoration.
